I want to do a shout-out for a guy I’ve never met: Stephen Shechtel, an attorney in Rockville, Maryland. He was recommended to me by my good friend, Glenn (Rusty) Hall. I had a traffic violation. I needed some advice. It was going to be the State of Maryland against me. Stephen took a few minutes over the phone to explain the following: 1) He normally charges $750 to walk into a courtroom. 2) He didn’t want to “rip me off.” 3) He told me to take in proof of insurance for the vehicle. 4) He said I’d be okay.

I did what he said. The State dropped the charges when I showed them my insurance card. I did not have to pay $250 in fines. I did not have to pay for an attorney. I was in and out in 20 minutes.
